Diagnóstico pulpar. Testes eléctricos Análise comparativa entre dentes permanentes hígidos e restaurados. Estudo clínico.

Abstract

Para alcançar o sucesso na endodontia, é necessário passar pelas suas três fases principais: diagnóstico, preparação do dente e finalmente obturação. Neste trabalho será analizada a primeira etapa. A recolha de dados foi realizada na Clínica Universitária Filinto Batista, Cespu, Gandra, Portugal, por sete estudantes do quinto ano supervisionados por dois professores, com o objectivo de verificar a fiabilidade do teste de oximetria de pulso (PO) na análise do estado pulpar. Para tal, o teste PO foi comparado com o teste térmico de frio e com o teste pulpar eléctrico (EPT). Especificamente neste trabalho, são analisados os testes eléctricos em dentes saudáveis e restaurados. Após a recolha e a análise dos dados, foi constatado que existem diferenças marginalmente significativas com o EPT, na comparação de dentes restaurados e dentes não restaurados e também entre os diferentes tipos de dentes. Não foi possível estabelecer qualquer influência sobre os resultados entre a superfície restaurada e os grupos dentários ou sobre o número de superfícies restauradas. A amostra de pacientes tomada em consideração é reduzida. Por conseguinte, recomendamos a continuação da recolha de dados, a fim de melhorar o método e a precisão.

To achieve success in endodontics, it is necessary to go through its three main stages: diagnosis, tooth preparation and finally obturation. In this work the first stage will be analysed. Data collection was performed in the Filinto Batista University Clinic, Cespu, Gandra, Portugal, by seven fifth-year students supervised by two teachers, with the aim of checking the reliability of the pulse oximetry (PO) test in the analysis of the pulp status. To this end, the PO test was compared with the cold thermal test and with the electric pulp test (EPT). Specifically in this paper, the electrical tests on healthy and restored teeth are analysed. After collecting and analysing the data, it was found that there are marginally significant differences with the EPT when comparing restored and unrestored teeth and also between the different types of teeth. No influence on the results could be established between the restored surface and the tooth groups or the number of restored surfaces. The patient sample taken into consideration is small. Therefore, we recommend further data collection in order to improve the method and accuracy.
