Influência do polimento na manutenção da cor das restaurações a compósito

Abstract

As restaurações em compósito são um dos materiais mais utilizados na clínica devido às suas propriedades físicas, mecânicas, ópticas e estéticas, os quais, uma vez no ambiente oral, estão sujeitos a todo o tipo de agressões: alterações no pH; pigmentos adquiridos na dieta diária; alterações de temperatura causadas pelos alimentos e bebidas que consumimos, etc. Tudo isso acaba causando uma alteração na cor dos materiais e dos dentes, interna e externamente, de modo que, normalmente com os cuidados de higiene habituais, todas as alterações de cor causadas por fatores externos possam ser eliminadas ou reduzidas, mas os internos não podem ser eliminados porque envolvem o corpo do material.

Este estudo é orientado pela hipótese de que o polimento das restaurações a compósito terá influência na manutenção de cor das mesmas ao longo do tempo.

Composite restorations are one of the most used materials in the clinic due to their physical, mechanical, optical and aesthetic properties, which, once in the oral environment, are subject to all kinds of aggressions: pH changes; pigments acquired in the daily diet; temperature changes caused by the food and drink we consume, etc.

All of this ends up causing a change in the color of materials and teeth, internally and externally, so that, normally with the usual hygiene care, all color changes caused by external factors can be eliminated or reduced, but the internal ones cannot be eliminated because they involve the body of the material.

This study is guided by the hypothesis that the composite polishing influences the color stability of the material during time.
