Os efeitos da técnica B.O.P.T. sobre o periodonto Revisão sistemática integrativa

Abstract

Introdução: As preparações protéticas em próteses fixas foram sempre reconhecidas como um elemento fundamental para a integração biológica e estética dos artefactos protéticos. Nas próteses fixas sobre dentes naturais, existem dois métodos principais de preparação: -Preparação com margens indefinidas: vertical ou sem linha de acabamento; -Preparação com margens definidas: horizontais ou com linhas de acabamento. Objetivos: O objetivo principal desta revisão integrativa da literatura é avaliar a resposta dos tecidos periodontais (osso e gengiva) à técnica BOPT sobre dentes e implante, comparar a técnica BOPT com as técnicas tradicionais e propor a técnica BOPT como alternativa valida em prótese fixa. Metodologia: Uma pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada na PUBMED e Google Académico, utilizando a seguinte combinação de palavras-chave: biologically oriented preparation technique; vertical preparation; tooth preparation (MeshTerm); Feather Edge; chamfer; implant. Resultados/Discussão: O Comportamento dos tecidos periodontais ao redor dos dentes preparados segundo a técnica BOPT foi muito boa, mostrando baixos IP, PS diminuída, baixo índice de IG, estabilidade marginal, engrossamento da MG e baixas taxas de complicações pelo que podemos dizer que esta técnica promove a saúde e estabilidade dos tecidos periodontais. Conclusão: A técnica BOPT tanto em dentes naturais como em implantes tem um efeito excelente nos tecidos periodontais, embora seja mais complicada do que a técnica com margens definidas (técnica horizontal). Podemos dizer que é uma técnica clinicamente superior á convencional, não só em termos de estética, mas também em termos de funcionalidade, e pode ser utilizada com segurança na prática clínica diária.

Introduction: Prosthetic preparations in fixed prostheses have always been recognised as a key element for the biological and aesthetic integration of prosthetic artefacts. In fixed prostheses on natural teeth, there are two main methods of preparation: - Preparation with undefined margins: vertical or without finishing line; -Preparation with defined margins: horizontal or with finishing lines. Objectives: The main objective of this integrative literature review is to evaluate the response of periodontal tissues (bone and gingiva) to the BOPT technique on teeth and implant, compare the BOPT technique with traditional techniques and propose the BOPT technique as a valid alternative in fixed prosthetics. Methodology: A literature search was performed in PUBMED and Google SCHOLAR using the following combination of keywords: biologically oriented preparation technique; vertical preparation; tooth preparation (mesh term); Feather Edge; chamfer; implant. Results/Discussion: The behaviour of periodontal tissues around the teeth prepared using the BOPT technique was very good, showing low PI, decreased PS, low GI, marginal stability, thickening of the MG and low complication rates so we can say that this technique promotes the health and stability of periodontal tissues. Conclusion: The BOPT technique on both natural teeth and implants has an excellent effect on the periodontal tissues, although it is more complicated than the technique with defined margins (horizontal technique). It can be said to be clinically superior to the conventional technique, not only in terms of esthetics but also in terms of functionality, and can be safely used in daily clinical practice.
