dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Zirconia is an inert material and has difficulty in chemically interacting with adhesive systems and cements. To overcome this limitation, the zirconia surface is conditioned by various techniques. 10-MDP is a molecule that has increased the adhesion strength of adhesive systems and cements on resins and some ceramics.
Objectives: With the elaboration of this systematic literature review, we intend to determine whether adhesives containing 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (10-MDP) increase adhesion to zirconia after diferents surface treatments.
Materials and methods: A bibliographic search was carried out in the PubMed database, which resulted in the selection of 11 articles.
Main results: In the generality of the studies, the use of a material containing 10-MDP led to an increase in the adhesive strength to the zirconia surface and, the thermocycling process had an adverse effect on the adhesive strength of materials with 10-MDP to zirconia.
Conclusion: It is possible to state that in experimental studies when a surface conditioning was performed prior to adhesion, there was an increase in the coercive force when adhesive containing 10-MDP. | pt_PT |
