Tratamento da Anquiloglossia

Abstract

Introdução: o termo anquiloglossia refere-se a uma anomalia congénita do desenvolvimento da língua caracterizada por um freio lingual anormal, curto e grosso, que pode ser assintomática ou manifestar-se como um aumento de dificuldades de higiene oral, fala e amamentação. Objetivos: conhecer as vantagens do tratamento da anquiloglossia. Material e Métodos: foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica nas bases de dados electrónicas Pubmed e Sciencedirect entre os meses de Janeiro e Fevereiro de 2023, na procura de artigos em inglês, espanhol e português que preenchessem os nossos critérios de inclusão. Resultados: a pesquisa resultou num total de 269 artigos; 63 artigos da PubMed e 206 artigos da ScienceDirect. Após descartar duplicados e analisar os títulos, resumos e conteúdo dos artigos encontrados, ficámos com um total de 17 artigos de interesse para a nossa revisão integrativa; 3 artigos da Pubmed e 14 artigos da ScienceDirect. Discussão: a anquiloglossia é uma patologia que pode afectar factores quotidianos como a alimentação, a fala, a respiração ou a higiene oral, bem como ter efeitos mecânicos e sociais sobre o indivíduo que dela sofre. Conclusão: é essencial que os profissionais responsáveis pela saúde oral do recém-nascido realizem rotineiramente um exame do freio lingual, a fim de, se necessário, abordá-lo o mais rapidamente possível e evitar problemas futuros relacionados com esta patologia.

Introduction: the term ankyloglossia refers to a congenital anomaly of tongue development characterized by an abnormal, short and thick lingual frenum, which may be asymptomatic or manifest with difficulties in oral hygiene, speech and breastfeeding. Objectives: to know the advantages of the treatment of ankyloglossia. Methodology: a bibliographic search was conducted in the Pubmed and Sciencedirect electronic databases between the months of January and February 2023, in search of articles in English, Spanish and Portuguese that met our inclusion criteria. Results: the search resulted in a total of 269 articles; 63 articles from PubMed and 206 articles from ScienceDirect. After discarding duplicates and analysing the titles, abstracts and content of the articles found, we were left with a total of 17 articles of interest for our integrative review; 3 articles from Pubmed and 14 articles from ScienceDirect. Discussion: ankyloglossia is a pathology that can affect factors such as eating, speech, breathing or oral hygiene, as well as having mechanical and social effects on the affected patient. Conclusion: it is essential that the professionals responsible for the oral health of the newborn routinely carry out an examination of the lingual frenulum in order to, if necessary, address it as soon as possible and avoid future problems related to this pathology.
