Abstract

Introdução: A avaliação da densidade óssea é um fator crucial na colocação de implantes dentários e ósseos em Medicina Dentária. A qualidade e quantidade de osso disponível é um fator determinante no sucesso do implante a longo prazo. Objetivos: Examinar a importância da avaliação da densidade óssea na colocação de implantes dentários, bem como os diferentes métodos disponíveis para efetuar essa avaliação e determinar qual é o melhor tipo de osso para a colocação de implantes. Materiais e métodos: Foi efeituada uma revisão bibliográfica da documentação científica atualmente disponível, utilizando artigos com menos de 10 anos sobre o tema em questão. A base de dados PubMed foi utilizada para efetuar a revisão. Resultados: A estratégia de pesquisa descrita permitiu a obtenção de 3166 artigos, 225 artigos foram excluídos por duplicação 2894 após a leitura dos títulos e resumos. 26 artigos foram selecionados e analisados neste trabalho. Discussão e conclusões: O CBCT revela-se o melhor método diagnóstico, sendo utilizada para avaliar de forma objetiva a qualidade e a densidade óssea, o que permite determinar correlações com a estabilidade primária. O osso alveolar é o melhor tipo de osso para a colocação de implantes. Nesse tipo de osso, os implantes cónicos e cilíndricos não apresentaram diferenças significativas para nenhuma variável, observando-se uma diminuição significativa no ISQ após 7 dias de cicatrização (P = 0,0002), seguida de um aumento gradual após 21 dias (P = 0,0010) até o último acompanhamento em 90 dias (P = 0,0319).

Introduction: The evaluation of bone density is a crucial factor in the placement of dental and bone implants in dentistry. The quality and quantity of bone available at the implant placement site is a determining factor in the long-term success of the implant. Objectives: Is to examine the importance of evaluating bone density in the placement of dental and bone implants, as well as the different methods available to carry out this evaluation, in addition to determining which is the best type of bone to perform placement of bone implants. Materials and methods. The present study is carried out through a bibliographic review of the scientific documentation that is currently available, carried out with articles of less than 10 years on the subject raised. To carry out the review, the PUBMED database has been used. Results. The described research strategy allowed obtaining 3166 articles, 225 articles were excluded due to duplication .2894 after reading the titles and abstracts. 26 articles were selected and analyzed in this work. Discussion and conclusions: CBCT turn out to be the best diagnostic method, and it is used to objectively assess bone quality and bone density, which makes it possible to determine correlations with the primary stability of dental implants. Alveolar bone is the best type of bone for implant placement. In this type of bone, the conical and cylindrical implants did not show significant differences for any variable, observing a significant decrease in ISQ after 7 days of healing (P = 0.0002), followed by a gradual increase after 21 days (P = 0.0010) until the last follow-up at 90 days (P = 0.0319).
