A mordida aberta anterior e os tratamentos com alinhadores e o uso de mini-implantes de ancoragem.: Revisão sistemática integrativa

Abstract

Introdução: Em ortodontia, as anomalias da dimensão vertical representam frequentemente um desafio. Neste estudo, vamos analisar as mordidas abertas no sector anterior da boca, e os tratamentos com mini-implantes e com alinhadores.

Objetivos: Geral - Guiar o especialista para escolher o melhor tratamento em função dos desejos e das necessidades de cada paciente, mas essencialmente baseada nos tratamentos com mini-implantes e alinhadores. Específicos – Conhecer o funciamento dos mini-implantes de ancoragem e também dos alinhadores no tratamento da mordida aberta anterior, as suas vantagens e os seus limites, adaptados às características do paciente.

Materiais e método: Para isso foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica em plataforma eletrónica via PUBMED e Science Direct. Foram utilizadas diferentes combinações de palavras-chaves.

Resultados: Através da utilização da metodologia PRISMA e da aplicação dos critérios de elegibilidade, de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados 14 artigos, tendo sido agrupados numa tabela. Estes artigos abordam os temas sobre os quais será feita a comparação entre os efeitos dos alinhadores e dos mini-implantes para tratar a mordida aberta anterior.

Discussão: O tratamento com mini-implantes provoca a intrusão dos molares, e isto permite uma rotação no sentido anti-horário da mandibula e fechar a mordida aberta anterior. Os alinhadores têm uma ação sobretudo nos incisivos e provocando a extrusão.

Conclusões: Após a análise desta tabela, verificou-se que existem alguns pontos cefalométricos que permite-nos guiar, para escolher um plano de tratamento mais adequado. Os tratamentos com mini-implantes, quer com os alinhadores, podem ser usados para tratar a mordida aberta anterior, mas os dois processos juntos parece ser uma boa opção.

Introduction: In orthodontics, anomalies of the vertical dimension often present a challenge. In this study, we will analyze the open bites in the anterior sector of the mouth, and the treatments with mini-implants and aligners.

Objectives: The goal will be to guide the orthodontist to choose the best treatment according to the wishes and needs of each patient, but essentially based on treatments with mini-implants and aligners. To know the functioning of the mini-anchoring implants and of the aligners in the treatment of the anterior open bite, its advantages and its limits, adapted to the characteristics of the patient.

Materials and method: For this, bibliographic research was carried out in electronic platform via PUBMED and Science Direct. Different keyword combinations were used.

Results: Using the PRISMA methodology and applying the eligibility, inclusion, and exclusion criteria, 14 articles were selected, which were grouped in a table. These articles address the issues on which the effects of aligners and mini-implants will be compared to treat the anterior open bite.

Discussion: Treatment with mini-implants causes molar intrusion, and this allows a counterclockwise rotation of the jaw and close the anterior open bite. The aligners have an action especially on the incisors and causing extrusion.

Conclusion: After the analysis of this table, it was found that there are some cephalometric points that allows us to guide to choose a more appropriate treatment plan. Both mini-implant and aligner treatments can be used to treat the anterior open bite, but the two processes together seem to be a good option.
