Assim, a indústria odontológica realizou grandes investimentos em materiais e técnicas restauradoras estéticas. De todos os materiais restauradores estéticos, a cerâmica pode ser considerada atualmente a melhor escolha para reproduzir os dentes naturais. Dada a importância adquirida pela cerâmica no campo da Medicina Dentária parece de grande importância e utilidade o desenvolvimento de uma revisão bibliográfica baseada nas características e indicações dos principais sistemas cerâmicos existentes no mercado. In recent decades there has been a concern with aesthetics, allowing the latter to occupy large prominent place in dental offices. Patients began to demonstrate the necessity of having a harmonious smile as a prerequisite for their social and professional well-being. Thus, the dental industry has made large investments in materials and techniques aesthetic restorative. Of all the materials esthetic restorative, ceramics can be currently considered the best choice to reproduce natural teeth. Given the importance acquired by ceramics in the field of dentistry seems very important and useful to develop a literature review based on the characteristics and indications of the main existing ceramic systems in the market.
